Did Trump Even Steal His MAGA Slogan? From Bill Clinton?
Here's a video clip we came across recently that you probably don't remember and most likely will surprise you. It was taken from then Governor Bill Clinton's 1991 announcement that he would be running for President in 1992. Recognize anything that most people associate more with Donald Trump than former President Clinton?
Throughout his business career, and particularly since he decided to become a politician and run for the Presidency back in 2015, there have been countless stories of Donald Trump taking things that may not have belonged to him. Whether it was taking credit for an idea or some favorable result, or using money from his Trump Foundation and from his Presidential campaigns for personal purposes, or keeping payments his contractors thought were owed to them, it seems that Donald never worries about the ethics or the morality (or even the legality) of his actions.
Consequently, it should come as no surprise to find out that the slogan "Make America Great Again" did not originate with Mr. Trump. He made people believe it did, though, by repetition and by marketing the heck out of it.
So, bottom line, did Mr. Trump steal the slogan that is most associated with his political career? As always, we'll let you be the judge.
