Gronk Handles a Trash-Talker
This incident took place three seasons ago, but we still get a kick out of it and a lot of you seem to enjoy it, too.
Although many people do it on occasion, we've never been a fan of trash-talking, whether it's in sports, politics, or everyday life. For those that engage in that type of behavior regularly, perhaps it makes those folks feel better about themselves, but it never solves anything. If you're right on the issues, if you're good enough at what you do, etc. you don't need to stoop to that level. Which is why we were pleased with how New England Patriot tight end Rob Gronkowski handled trash-talker Sergio Brown in a recent NFL game.
New England was playing the Indianapolis Colts last weekend and, according to Gronkowski, Brown was yapping at him the whole game. So when the opportunity arose, Gronk decided to play bouncer and, as he described it afterwards, "… I took him and threw him out of the club".
Here is a brief clip of the play:
Comcast Sportsnet (CSNNE.com) had a good three-man discussion of the incident following the game:
Ok, Gronk may have gone a bit too far on this one, but the NFL did fine him $8,268 for unnecessary roughness.
