Was President Obama Born in Kenya?
*** UPDATE: September, 2016 - It may have taken eight years, but even Donald Trump finally has conceded that President Obama was born in Hawaii, not in Kenya. Apparently those detectives he hired back in 2011-12 never did find the smoking gun that Mr. Trump had alluded to in the past. ***
Despite Donald Trump's attempt to ingratiate himself with the far right by re-gurgitating the story that President Obama was born in Kenya, this rumor is not true.
The State of Hawaii and at least one local Hawaiian newspaper both reported, at the time of his birth, that Barack Obama was born in Hawaii.
Hawaii's former Republican Governor, Linda Lingle, stands by the State's records which substantiate the short- and long-form birth certificates Mr. Obama has released.
Even former House Minority Leader Eric Cantor has grudgingly admitted that President Obama is a native born American. Can we finally put this story to bed?
