List of Republicans Not Supporting Trump Continues to Grow
The number of Republicans and conservatives who will not be voting for Donald Trump this fall continues to grow.
Although some of these individuals have not stated they will vote for Hillary Clinton, many of these Republicans have crossed the aisle and publicly endorsed Mrs. Clinton.
The reasons for this unprecedented lack of support for their party's Presidential candidate can be summarized as follows:
- Mr. Trump's ignorance of the Constitution, of economics, and of foreign policy
- His bullying, insulting, and foul-mouthed behavior
- His never-ending lies about himself, his political opponents, and issues of the day
- His condoning of political violence and bigotry
- His support of Russian leader Vladimir Putin
- His inability to run successful businesses without resorting to bankruptcies or non-payment of contractors who performed work for him
- The fraudulent practices surrounding Trump University
- His lack of transparency, particularly his refusal to make public any of his tax returns
- His flip-flopping on multiple issues, seemingly for political convenience
- His unwillingness to take personal responsibility for his actions
Below is a listing of the best-known of the Republicans\conservatives (plus five staunchly Republican newspapers) who have made it clear that, for any or all of the above reasons, Mr. Trump is not qualified to be elected President of the United States and will not get their vote.
Included is our understanding of who these Citizens do expect to vote for, instead of Mr. Trump.
(Note that these decisions not to support Mr. Trump were made prior to the release of Mr. Trump's lewd recorded comments. Since that time, many Republicans who originally endorsed Mr. Trump have rescinded their endorsement. This latter group of Republicans are not yet listed below.)
